Hello! Well, I am currently about two and a half weeks out from the NPC Wisconsin State Championships! I am nervous and excited. I have sent in my entry form for Jr. USA’s, booked my flight and hotel as well. Really looking forward to the travel! Ben, my boyfriend will be going with me to my show in Madison. He has been so wonderful, supportive and tolerant of all of the madness that comes with my competing. I love him soooo much and am so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life! My mom with be going to South Carolina with me. I look forward to spending some time with her and being somewhere warm and sunny!

Feeling good about my progress, and how my prep is going. I do tend to be a little weird during the last few weeks. Over-analyzing how I look, thinking about who else will be there. But I have put in the effort, and now it is time to see how it stacks up against the competition on that day!

I got my proofs back from my shoot with Wendi from Satio Photography. I loved so many of them, it was hard to narrow it down to just three images to edit! I will post them as soon as I get them back.

I have a shoot coming up on Saturday with Robb Long, www.rlimaging.com, with a really cool concept. I will post pictures from that shoot when I recieve them. Well, it’s off to the gym for more cardio for me!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello all! I know it has been quite some time since I have written an entry on here. Slapping myself lightly on the hand as punishment! I had a great day today, I had the honor of shooting with Wendi of Satio Photography! What a great lady! I cant wait to post the pic, and I cant wait to work with her again!

Well, to get you up to speed on what is going on with me. I competed in two NPC shows last year, The NPC Midwest Muscle Classic, where I took the tall class and the overall ( my first one yet!), and the NPC North Star, where I placed fifth in a tall class of 18 competitors. Although I dont really agree with my placing there, I did my best, and presented my best total package yet I had the opportunity to represent ALR Industries at the 2009 Arnold Sports Festival! Thank you for having me, it is always a pleasure!I have also been doing quite a few photo shoots, and even landed some fitness model work with companies such as Life Fitness, and Gopher Sport! I have worked with some really great photographers, stylists and make up artists!

I am still working with Shawn Myzska of Explosive Edge Athletics. I want to CONGRATULATE him on being named “Minnesota’s Trainer of the Year”! An award which he is so deserving of. We have been working on adding some more quality muscle to my frame, and shaping out that muscle. I couldn’t be happier with the progress that I have made since I started working with him! Check out his website at www.explosiveedgeathletics.com! I have my sights set on competing at the National level this season! I will start out with the NPC Wisconsin State Championships, then move onto NPC Jr.USA’s, ( in Charleston, SC on May 23rd), then onto the NPC Jr. Nationals, ( in Chicago, June 19th-21st)! After that we will discuss our options!

I am currently a little under four weeks out from the Wisconsin show. The time has just flown by, and I am really looking forward to getting back on stage! I am excited and nervous to see where I fall on the National level stage, but I will never know unless I give it my all!

I promise that I will be posting new blogs, updating my site, and posting new pictures, so you can all follow my journey through competitions, photo shoots, and whatever else may pop up!

Take care, Tara Thatcher NPC Figure Competitor & Fitness Model
